Tribes - Connecting With Real People

Not getting the referrals you want yet? Maybe you don't have the relationships you need! One cool way of building relationships is through tribes. Facebook has some - like Tribe Syndication Association and Tribe Syndication Network. But there are a ton of tribes out there all over the place. But the basic idea of tribes is essentially the same - connect first with a small group - say 5 - people that are like minded and syndicate each other's content. What does that mean? Share their blogs, digg them, retweet their tweets, comment on their blogs - and basically just connect with them as if they were real people (gasp!). And then expand from there - some suggest from outside the tribe, some suggest connecting in various ways with others from industries like yours and even not like yours (not all connections happen in a straight line you know - sometimes things happen through a friend of a friend).

This is based on the idea though that you have quality content and that you share other's quality content. If you just post junk and share any junk, then it doesn't really work - because your followers won't care about that and will just tune out and the benefit is lost. So you've got to spend some time developing your content and your ability to discern quality as well.
